How long have you been riding for and what got you into riding?
I've been riding since 2017 and riding has been something that's been on my mind since I was very young but never had the funds for it. My boyfriend (best friend at the time) jumped the gun early 2017 and got a bike, and after riding as passenger once, I knew I hated being a passenger and to get my own. So you can say it's a lifelong dream but got kickstarted by my S/O!
What kind of impact had riding had for you? Has riding helped you to overcome a hardship in your life, if yes how?
Oh man, riding has completely changed my life. I finally found something that I absolutely love and continuously am striving to be better at. My life plans, travel plans and friendships revolves around riding - anything I could do to explore this hobby further, I will look into it. Riding has helped me figure out what was important to me - which was to live in the present as much as I can while still saving for my future. As long as I don't regret myself not doing something when I'm older, I know I lived a happy life :)
Do you prefer to ride solo or groups and why?
I prefer to ride in small groups (2-5) with riders I know well, mainly for safety as I've been in and witnessed many moto accidents before and it's good to have someone there with you plus getting food after with your group is always fun! I do not like riding in big groups because you never know what someone else's riding style is and may not suit you. A split second bad judgement call is all it takes to cause an accident.
What kind of bike do you have and why? What kind of riding do you do or have you done? (Dirt, off road/enduro, road trips etc.)
I been doing street and track riding for the past 2 years, and have recently started get into trail riding. I love road trips as well, but on a CBR600RR, I can't go too far else my butt hurts :) My bikes: CBR600RR - street bike R6 - track bike TTR125LE - dirt bike Z125 - mini street bike
What's been your favorite or most memorable riding experience?
I rode to Osoyoos with my boyfriend last September and absolutely loved the Crowsnest Hwy for the scenery and great roads. Although I totalled my bike on that ride, it is still my favourite ride so far.
Future riding goals/ plans?
In the short term, I'd like to attend more track days and spend more time off-roading to continue to build my skills to eventually get into racing. Long term, I'd love to own an adventure bike and travel the world with it.
What else would like to ask to your fellow riders?
Your safety is way more important than your ego. Please ride safe everyone!
